I’ve played your game
and now I’m done
for it is a game
I could never have won
I wanted you to care
I wished you would share
I should have known better
games aren’t always fair
The more I played
the more I learned
love and trust
must be earned
for if it is not
you will always
get burned
I’ve played your game
and now I’m done
but don’t ever think
that means you won.

I say – You win!

We all win when we don’t allow others to play games with our hearts.

It took me awhile to learn my lesson. I wouldn’t have written poetry, a book or created a blog without past experiences.
