World CP Day Committee

Forrest Gump was right — life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get! I could have never predicted that in just a few short years, I’d be a respected advocate in the cerebral palsy community. Now, my advocacy work will effect change globally!

I’m honored to share a special announcement from World CP Day:

“Dear Nicole,

It is with great pleasure that I can confirm your appointment on the new World Cerebral Palsy Day (WCPD) Committee. Welcome!

The Committee comprises 12 people – including individuals with cerebral palsy, parents, and researchers/clinicians – from the USA, India, Singapore, Turkey, New Zealand, France, Nigeria, Mexico and the United Kingdom. We received almost 100 expressions of interest for this honorary role, which was quite extraordinary.

World CP Day is only in its 4th year but has exceeded all expectations – with participation from over 52 countries and thousands of individuals. With a modest budget, but a highly motivated community, it has the potential to be a powerful force for social impact to benefit people with CP and their families across the world.

Our aim is to support local action and, by doing so, build the global movement to ensure that people with CP have the same rights, access and opportunities as others in their communities.

Warm regards,
Robyn Cummins, World Cerebral Palsy Day Manager”
